An interesting tip from Boing Boing- apparently the Internet Archive can be considered a library for the purposes of protecting its contributors from the Patriot Act. This has allowed the EFF to overturn a gagging order imposed by the FBI.

An interesting site has launched in the US. Called Govit, it’s a kind of social networking site for politics and legislation, allowing citizens to discuss and vote on legislation, and compare their votes with their elected representatives. (via Read/Write Web)
