Legal Week has a very good comment piece by Paul Lippe on why lawyers should care about social networking sites and technologies such as facebook and web/enterprise 2.0, and why early adoption will pay off.

Dunno if if the English peeps get any info on this, but CaseCheck’s a snazzy service. it’s a free service that uses experts in their field to write synopsis of recent cases, and you can subscribe to the RSS feeds of all types, or just specific areas.

It’s Scottish-based, so you’ll find material on it that’s only relevant to Scots like Court of Session stuff, but it also has bits that are UK relevant, like Employment Appeal Tribunal Cases.

I have asked and got verbal permission for the fact that all material is ok for reposting in internal news etc, with attribution.

Law Soc Gazette has a new look. Not radical, but much much better.

Peter Scott has liked to a new(ish) library type site/blog LibGig . Claims to be a new professional networking website. Nice idea, but think they need to add some non US blogs to their reading list.

This Bookmooch service seems like an excellent example of web 2.0 in action in creating a useful and viable online community, and also yay free books!
