Does anyone know what happened to the Blawg Republic? They’ve been down for many more than “a few weeks.”

(I like that their logo continues to say, “The Blawg Republic is Updated Hourly.” Perhaps they’re actually on Venus. That would explain it.)

I don’t know if any of you work on your firm’s intranet, but I thought Amy Witt’s cartoon was pretty good!

A NYT article asks, If You Run a Red Light, Will Everyone Know? In the US, the answer is now, “Yes.” The new CriminalSearches.com lets you search and find free “criminal” information. I found someone whose crime was riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the road. So, you’d better not let anyone catch you jaywalking….

BYU’s Hunter Law Library has created a neat, new drop-down search toolbar for their students and faculty. Has anyone else created something with multiple database options like this for their library?

Beware of bogus U.S. District Court subpoenas being sent via e-mail. Apparently they are getting recipients to download malware.

According to this Washington Post article, (“Et Tu, YouTube?”) 100+ House members have multimedia pages & YouTube links on their Web sites which are in violation of House rules.

I went to Steven Cohen’s “What’s Hot in RSS & Social Software” presentation at CIL today. Here are two things that I thought were particularly interesting:
1) page2rss – You can create an RSS feed for a static Web page (though I noticed some – like Ask BILL!, (darn it!) are too large to work).
2) AideRSS – You can use this to analyze your blog posts – try your blog URL if your feed is too taxing for it (it’s more fun than useful, though, in my humble opinion – maybe it’s more useful if you have a mega blog).
