A short afternoon diversion: Jessamyn West at librarian.net linked this page full of wild and creative bookshelf designs: Bookshelves – 30 of the Most Creative Designs. Which is your favorite?

I love the practicality of the Folding Bookshelves, but I also like the colors they used for the totally impractical Opus Shelving. My least favorite is the Ceiling Bookshelf. It just screams “Spider bite!”

I was just about to blog about another bookcase on there too! :http://freshome.com/2007/10/08/the-bookcase-bed/
Love those ideas, but I probably couldn’t afford any of them, or have the space…will just have to stick with my IKEA Billy bookcase…although I do object to furniture with peoples names! :)
Opus, Lodge and Dedalo are my favourites :)

I quite liked the whole wall one (http://freshome.com/2007/05/17/interesting-bookcase/), though you’d need a lot of space to take it. They really are all rather impractical…

The whole wall was my favorite too. In different colors, I’d like the shelves with a bench. I think the Cave, the other one with a built-in seat, would make me feel claustrophobic, even though I’m generally not very, and it’s open on the sides.
A lot of them seemed to increase the feeling of clutter, which seems opposite the usual intention of shelving. I’ve seen bookshops with the ceiling shelves setup.
