I too am guilty of doing bad, bad things to innocent books – I’ve made altered books, ripped the pages of old judicial dictionaries out and used them for art / distributed among arty friends, and made niche shrines within books by gluing the pages together and carving out a central area.
Yes, I am indeed a desecrator of old books, but what else can you do with outdated law textbooks from 100 years ago that the local drama societies don’t even want to as props! ;-)

A friend recently cut a chunk out of an old programming textbook, so that he could hide precious things within. It’s really cool!
