Hi, I spent 3 days on Sark because ever since I read about the island, I was intrigued by it. My stay coincied with the big move to democracy. although the people felt relieved, some of them had their doubts and asked me ‘You are not a journalist, are you?’. They felt that the press would write what they wanted to hear instead of expressing their views. On what is your fascination based?

Sacha,
I am fascinated by how the legal systems change and what/where they all come from, depending on who owned the land and when. It’s interesting to see how places like Manx and Sark and Jersey have all been influenced by their different owners and what rituals and legal quirks this throws up.
