I just created a Facebook page for the UW Law Library
There are still a few more apps I’d like to add but can’t figure out – like IM and a catalog search. Any Facebook experts out there?

One of our University Libraries web people is working on a catalog search app, but he’s having trouble getting it to display on pages because of the permissions.

Try a search for Meebo, then look at the results on the applications tab. There are a few for Meebo. When you select it, you should get a page asking if you want to install it on the page or your profile.

I haven’t tried any of them, and none of them have many users, so I don’t know how well they work.

I’d love to hear more if you get the catalog search working, Jim!

Thanks, Jim and Meg. I did find some more info, but still nothing works. We use Pluggo and I did find a widget on WidgetBox but can’t get it to work.
And we use Voyager for our catalog and found some instructions, but no good.

Really need to create a catalogue app, need some code to copy, anyone?

One work-around is to use the My HTML app and then paste in some HTML to link to your catalog.

Yeah – thanks Jim, that worked. I used the My HTML app to put in the Voyager coding found here, substituting our voyager url. Worked like a charm.

Still nothing on Plugoo though, so I just put in a link to our Ask a Librarian page.
