Bonnie Shucha makes a good point on document ownership. Lots of free document sharing tools & case law access points online these days. Librarians can’t forget, or let patrons forget, that authority still counts. Someone has to take ownership.

Disclosure: I am working on the JD Supra project, a soon to be launched competitor to docstoc. … The concept, of course, is good for anyone who’s publishing documents that people must rely upon.

JD Supra sounds great. It definitely addresses my concerns about document ownership. Knowing not only who the author of a doc is, but also seeing their profile lends the doc much more credibility. I’m looking forward to seeing JDSupra in production!
